What is XML Sitemap
A sitemap is an XML file listing all the important content on your website. Any page or file that you want to show up in search engines should be in your sitemap. It maps out how the website is structured and what the website includes.
A sitemap tells the crawler which files you think are important in your site and also provides valuable information about these files – When the page was last updated, how often the page is changed.
“XML” stands for “Extensible Markup Language,” a way of displaying information on websites.
An XML sitemap is a sitemap (XML file) designed for search engine bots. The file contains HTML code which allows the bot to read the outline of the website and understand the relationship between each page.
